====== Floating desktop (also known as "Overlay") ====== ===== In a nutshell ===== A floating desktop is a desktop that can be displayed anywhere, anytime. Just swipe from an edge of your screen and the floating desktop will be displayed above any other app, always ready to launch app or display widgets, just when you need it. ===== HowTo ===== Create a new desktop first (Lightning settings / configure desktops / tap on +), then populate it with some good stuff: apps, folders, widgets, everything you need. This floating desktop works as other normal desktops. Then in Lightning settings, General category, enter the Floating Desktop section. Tap on "Select or disable the floating desktop" end choose the desktop you created just before. Turn on the "Display handles" option to make swipe handles visible: this helps to visualize their position and size. The green one is used to open the floating desktop, while the red one is used to hide it. Adjust these position and size according to your taste and once this is done you can switch off the handles visibility. Your floating desktop is now ready. Navigate to any other app and swipe from the edge of your screen to reveal your shiny new floating desktop! ===== FAQs ===== ==== Is it possible to hide or show the status bar when the floating desktop is displayed ? ==== No, the status bar "belongs" to the app behind the floating desktop.
